Holbeach and District Civic Society

Our Society was formed in 1987 by a small group of residents who were concerned about the rebuilding of All Saints Church wall using inappropriate bricks. Mr. & Mrs Eric Lane, Mrs Alison Hunter and Mrs Eileen Tinsley were the founder members. Their aim was to see that care was taken with future renovation works in our historic market town.

The AIMS and OBJECTIVES of our Society

  1. 1. To Increase and Develop Public Amenities and the Standard and Quality of Life in the Holbeach and District Aretoa - hence our involvement with The PARISH PLAN.
  2.
  3. 2. To Preserve Buildings of Architectural and Historical Interest and of Natural Beauty within Holbeach and District Area. We work with Elizabeth Mayle (South Holland District Council Conservation Officer) and English Heritage on this issue.
  4.
  5. 3. To Encourage and Co-ordinate Activities relating to Architecture, Landscape Music and other Arts.
  6.
  7. 4. To Cooperate for these purposes with Local Authorities and with Bodies with similar aims, both Local and National.
  8.
  9. 5. To Encourage a sense of Citizenship by stimulating interest in these matters.
  10.
